Die Back

I’m about to head off to Jakarta for 10 days, to be a part of the South East Asia Plus (SEA+) Triennale 2016 at the National Gallery of Indonesia. This exhibition is in its second year and its theme is Encounter: Art from different lands. I will be reconstructing the work Die Back from the 2014 McClelland Sculpture Survey, inside the gallery. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with some artists I studied with at Goldsmiths College, London, and meeting other artists and curators for the first time. The exhibition will be held from 18 October – 10 November.

This month I’ll finish a commission for the Clarence City Council for its foreshore development at Kangaroo Bay, on Hobart’s eastern shore. The work is constructed from glass and aluminium and at 4 metres tall it will be difficult to miss.

I’m also very pleased that a work I did with Michael Schlitz for the 2014 Sculpture by the Sea (Bondi) exhibition, The Navigator, has been leased by the Frankston City Council in Victoria and is located at Seaford on the Mornington Peninsula.
